Houston bayous Our Mission is to protect and restore the richness and diversity of our waterways through activism, advocacy, collaboration and education.



Activism

Houston bayous

The BPA will respond strongly to threats to our bayous and streams by grass-roots organizing, education, and promotion of alternatives to destructive channelization.



Advocacy

Houston bayous The BPA believes that there are viable, economically responsible alternatives to channelization for our region's storm water management, such as flood plain management and buy-out, regional detention basins, and natural models for stream bed modification.



Collaboration

Houston bayous BPA is coordinating the clean up of area bayous, as well as planting trees along the banks of area bayous.



Education

Houston bayous BPA provides information on bayous at festivals, seminars, professional meetings and through this website.
