Discover the hidden beauty of Houston’s lesser known tributaries at Fonteno Park during Bayou Preservation's "Start Here" Guided Walks. Located in northeast Houston, Fonteno Park provides a tranquil escape where you can explore thriving natural landscapes and many trails while learning about the vital role bayous play in supporting our urban environment.
Join the Bayou Preservation Association's Certified Interpretive Guide, Morton Sager at 10:00 am for an engaging 90-minute tour. Along the way, you’ll delve into the park’s rich ecological and community history while discovering the unique flora and fauna that make this area special. This walk will also feature the unveiling of two new educational signs, installed under the Port Houston Community Grants program, which highlight native and invasive species found in Fonteno Park.
